iPhone 4 Bumper Cases Previously Bought Are Being Refunded

It has been announced today that Apple have started to automatically refund purchased iPhone bumper cases to all customers who bought one before Apple’s decision to offer them free of charge last week.

For those of you that purchased a bumper case before the Apple conference last Friday, expect yourselves to be a few pounds richer as you should be getting an email which details your refund of the bumper case!

Apple have advised that you don’t have to request for a refund as everyone who bought a bumper case will automatically receive a refund back into their accounts.

It is estimated that it will cost Apple approximately $175 million in revenue to issue bumper cases to its iPhone 4 customers, however I suppose this is a small price to pay for the Apple iPhone 4 boo boo!

Do you think offering a free bumper case to iPhone 4 customers is an adequate solution or should Apple recall the iPhone 4? Leave us your thoughts below…

  • Making steps to refund cases wont make up for the lack of function over form.

It’s a shame to see so many issues with the iPhone 4 after so many people waited for it’s release. What’s more of a shame is that it seems Apple knew about some of these issues already, such as the problem with reception.

If a brand new company brought out a product and then told you needed to pay a further £25 to make it work properly, you wouldn’t bother. But Apple have created such a loyal following that people may just put up with what issues there are for the sake of owning the latest Apple product. Personally, I’d be happier with an older iPhone – at least then the issues are all ironed out.

However, it’s also interesting to see how much excitement new technologies can bring. New technology and innovation is important for new business, illustrated by entrepreneurship grants and new business competitions like http://www.ukesnc.com.

    Guess it’s not all bad!
