Vodafone and First Direct Have Pulled Out of Facebook Adverts

Vodafone and First Direct have pulled their adverts from Facebook because their adverts were being shown near the racist UK “political party”, British National Party content. Although they buy ‘bundle’ advertsing to appear on numerous website they don’t have control over which ones.

I want to say well done to Vodafone and First Direct for making this stance as they’re showing that their own policies and values do not comply with the controversial and racist stance that the BNP portray.

It is also making companies aware that they do not have control over where their adverts are placed online and that something needs to be done.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
