The summer months are notoriously slow months for the games industry with so many games launched around Christmas time. Last year Microsoft launched a new set of games that would be launched during the summer months on Xbox Live Arcade. And they have just announced their plans for this summer.
The first game to arrive is Limbo on 21st of July, which is a film-noir “snooty platform puzzler”. Next up is the rocket-powered speedboat game Hydro Thunder Hurricane will be the second on 28th July. With local and online multiplayer being touted too.
Third will be a classic remake of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair on August 4th, it looks to marry the classic 2D platforming with six-player online co-op. And if working together gets boring, you can murder each other to the death.
Penultimate arrival will be Monday Night Combat – a spin-off of American Football where the ball has been replaced with guns, and there are no rules.
And finally our favourite big-breasted archaeologist returns in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which will round off the Summer of Arcade on 18th August.
So plenty to look forward during the notoriously long summer months.
