HTC Desire Price Cut from T-Mobile: Could this Affect iPhone 4 Sales?

With the release of the iPhone 4, it would appear that the popular HTC handset, the HTC Desire has been cut in price to push customers to buy the HTC Desire handset over the iPhone 4.

Currently, T-Mobile are offering the HTC Desire free on the £30 month contract compared to their previous £35 per month before the iPhone 4 release date.  The T-Mobile contract will offer you 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet compared to some of the iPhone 4 deals which.

For example, the cheapest and comparable deal to date is an iPhone 4 contract on Three which offers you a 32GB iPhone 4 on a £30 month contract, offering you 500 minutes, 5000 texts, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, however you would have to pay an upfront cost for the phone of £189.

The HTC Desire is certainly a fantastic piece of kit, however the only drawback to its vast array of features is its lack of internal memory. Currently, the the HTC Desire which is just a tiny 512MB, however to make up for this it comes with a micoSD card slot which allows you to store up to 32GB of memory.

With recent news of the iPhone 4 currently experiencing reception problems, it certainly makes the HTC Desire a more reliable phone and a worthy contender, however I wonder if the slash in prices will affect people buying the HTC Desire over the iPhone 4?

    I think i-phone is overpriced(not just-4), though they are good phones. I bought desire for the same reason.
