World’s Cheapest Laptop, But There’s a Catch

With an age of austerity looking to engulf the world of gadgets it would seem the penny pinching has already begun, as a Hong-Kong company on eBay are selling 7-inch laptops for £25.

The machine is question is a 7-inch Wi-Fi netbook running Windows CE and features a 300MHz ARM processor, 128 MB RAM and a eye-watering 2GB of storage. The screen boasts an amazingly dull 800×480 resolution, two USB ports and a SD slot.

This worryingly cheap deal is coming from a small Hong-Kong eBay firm, which makes the laptops with parts that are seconds or haven’t quite met quality control standards.

Plugging it into the wall will certainly be like a version of tech-Russian Roulette, but who can complain for just over a score.
