Sprint’s Next 4G Phone, The Samsung Epic 4G is Announced

The rumoured Galaxy S Pro has been officially announced by Sprint as the ‘Epic 4G’. So what will the Epic 4G include when it comes into the market in the next few months?

Similar to the EVO 4G, the Epic 4G, will include a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 720p video recording and also a front facing camera to make video calls.

Other specifications on the Samsung Epic 4G include integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a six axis accelerometer, and a 1GHz processor, plus EV-DO Rev and WiMax. The Epic 4G can also be used as a WiFi hot spot for up to five different devices.

As well as this the Samsung Epic 4G features a full QWERTY keyboard, and will come with Android 2.1, and features a 1500 mAh battery.

  • This really looks nice despite the fact that I am still loving my EVO.

It looks like Sprint is starting to prove it means business with their 4G. Who would want to go up against the group backing and funding “Clear” (the 4G guys). Let’s see it’s Google, Intel, Comcast, Time Warner and yes Sprint. I am finally proud to be a Sprint customer and it will be a very interesting game with the consumer coming out the winner as competition continues to heat up.

Maybe we should all get together and buy Sprint. LOL

  • Thanks with regard to the information, I am truly looking forward to the Samsung Epic 4G, despite the fact that I have constantly been quite interested in gizmos, for a long time I have been looking for my first smartphone and I did not get it yet. The reasons are really simple: each couple of months there is a revolution in the industry (hard to decide!) and prices here in Brazil are really abusive. Maybe I would enter this world in wonderful style with a Samsung Epic 4G. I hope so.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
