Sony Show Off Flash Gordon-esque Ray Gun for PlayStation Move Controller

Sony finished off the corporate side of E3 with their press conference last night, in Los Angeles. They unveiled their new PlayStation Move, which they hope will take up the fight against Microsoft and Nintendo – in the what are being the dubbed the “movement wars”.

As well the usual announcements, Sony showed off a Flash Gordon style Ray gun attachment for their movement wand, which we have conceded looks fantastic. They have clearly gone down the fantasy route with a real retro look to it.

The new shooting attachment sports a two-tone red and white colour scheme and will certainly not be mistaken for a real gun, which parents will be happy to hear. When you look at it you don’t get a sense of the bad connotations of guns and violence, which is a welcomed decision.

Basically, the trigger of the attachment locks in with the analog “T” trigger button of the slotted-in the Move Controller for some sweet, shoot-tastic shooting.

No word on what sort of games we can expect – but don’t be surprised if your playing some form of Time Crisis in 3D later this year and we for one can’t wait!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
