OS X 10.6.4 has arrived. Apple has updated its Mac Snow Leopard operating system.

10.6.4 Includes 28 security updates and bug fixes as well as Mac's latest web browser, Safari 5. The update is also described to affect MobileMe, though there's no description of any applicable changes.

A separate version for OS X servers has also been released, which improves features such as mail services, file directory, calendar etc.

Along with the OS update is Security update 2010-04 which corrects several security vulnerabilities.

The main features of the OS X update are:
"¢ Resolves an issue that causes the keyboard/track-pad to become unresponsive
"¢ Resolves an issue that prevents some Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications from opening
"¢ Resolves issues copying, renaming, or deleting files on SMB file servers
"¢ connections
"¢ Resolves a playback issue in DVD Player when using Good Quality deinterlacing
"¢ Resolves an issue editing photos with iPhoto or Aperture in full screen view
"¢ Resolves an issue with Parental Controls Time Limits for Open Directory or Active Directory users
"¢ Resolves a display sleep issue with MacBook Pro computers
"¢ Resolves an issue with MacBook Pro computers in which the right speaker sounds louder than the left speaker
"¢ Improves compatibility with some Braille displays
"¢ Improves reliability of VPN

OS X 10.6.4 should be offered to Mac users via the Software Update tool, alternatively it can be downloaded from the Apple website. Along with the security update.

  • It resolves this and resolves that. To be honst there should be no need for resolving because with every resolving, they seem to add another problemwhich needs resolving later in order for us to keep buying.
