Samsung Galaxy Tablet (aka Galaxy Tape) More Details Revealed: An iPad Killer?

Photos were leaked about the Samsung Galaxy Tablet a couple of weeks ago, however more details have been revealed about the Galaxy Tab.

The Galaxy Tab will now be called the Galaxy Tape and will tout a six inch screen. As well as this, the Galaxy Tape will run on Google Android 2.2 have will include an A8 processor that runs on 1.2 GHz.

It is expected to weigh 370 grams and the specs suggest that it will have 16GB of on board storage and 32GB by using the micoSD slot.

The device will also use the same Super AMOLED screen used on the Samsung Galaxy S, making the screen display considerably sharp and clear.

So with more details on the Samsung Tape, does it appear that Samsung are directly competing with Apple and more specifically the Apple iPad? This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has pitched its products to compete with Apple, especially as recently Samsung took a swipe at the new iPhone 4 Retina display, by suggesting that the Samsung AMOLED used 30% less power than iPhone’s Retina Display.

There is still no confirmation of the release date, however the evidence does suggest that it won't be long before it makes it way into the marketplace.

What do you think? Do you think Samsung could compete with the tech giants Apple in the tablet market? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…
