Facebook and Yahoo are set to integrate their services, so that users of both services can update one site to automatically update the other.
The deal will also extend to Yahoo-owned Flickr, making uploading photos to your wall even easier.
Yahoo Answers or Yahoo video and music services will also link to Facebook, even to friends without a Yahoo account.
Facebook and Yahoo initially announced a partnership last year, providing users with the ability to easily import contacts across both sites.
Yahoo's profile revamp extends to it's name, now called Yahoo Pulse. The site will also receive improved privacy setting so that users can control who can view their updates or watch any media uploaded to the web.
The move comes as part of Yahoo’s attempt to strengthen its social networking foothold, after the company's failed Yahoo Mash attempt which folded after a year.
Yahoo has forged another alliance with gaming company Zynga, which owns titles like Farmville and Mafia Wars. The idea is that Yahoo users will be able to play these games directly from the Yahoo network later this year.
Yahoo is also set to team up with Twitter later this year, providing instant access to a 140 character stream of wisdom.

@Martin – I very much concur with what you are saying here even though one has to reflect on all aspects of the argument. We can all be to some extent guilty of adopting a rather restricted view to these issues and for the most part, stepping back and observing the ‘bigger picture’ can almost always turn out helpful results.
