Healthy and Fun: Keep Fit With Nintendo Wii Fit

Nintendo WiiThe thing that I love about the Nintendo Wii Console is that it has revolutionised the computer games market to give non gaming geeks a chance to break free into the unknown and experience the delights of computer game playing.

They have done this by offering games such as Nintendo Wii Sport which offer a more healthier alternative to traditional computer gaming.

Just when you thought they had hit the nail on the head with the Nintendo Wii Sport they told Cnet in a press conference that they will be introducing a calorie busting fitness game called the Nintendo Wii Fit. What’s different about this game is that you won’t even need a remote or a ‘Wiimote’ instead it will come with a Wii Balance, which you lay on the floor and connect wirelessly to your Wii. It will offer 40 different activities and will track your performance statistics.

A release date has not yet been announced but the prediction is early 2008 and all I can say cancel those gym memberships and invest in the Wii Fit when it comes out because I definitely think this will be a cheaper and a more fun option!

  • I think this is a really great idea. I would love to have something like this. Hopefully it will be something my sons would enjoy also. This way in the winter I can get them up and running around.

  • I love the Wii and so does the family. They’ll love this.

  • I told my husband about this game coming out and he didn’t get it at all. But then again he is not into exercising all that much.

  • Sharon…you mark my words when this game does come out your husband will be itching to get his hands on it as I predict it’ll be the latest craze in gaming.

  • I hope that you are right. Because this game looks like it would be good for the whole family.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
