Yesterday Google announced its first foray into operating systems with their cloud software Chrome OS. On top of this, details have now emerged of the first netbook that will run the new Google cloud operating system. It has been suggested that both Chrome OS and the netbook should with us by late fall.
According to Digitimes, the forward thinking Acer could be the first company to launch a Google Chrome OS netbook. There were rumours we would get a sneak peak of the new netbook at Computex this week, but this has failed to materialise.
Other notable manufacturers who have thrown their hats into the ring include Samsung, Dell and ASUS.
Google’s Chrome OS aims to bring cloud applications to users rather than locally installed applications like with Mac OS and Microsoft Windows.
All Data is going to be stored in the “cloud” allowing you to open up your computer session from any computer or tablet that run the OS. Which we think could be a major advantage over local OS’s.
Would you be willing to leave Windows or Mac OS for Google’s new OS? Let us know what you think…

Proper ugly.
In a word, no.
As soon as I heard “cloud storage” and “cloud OS”, I instantly went on to something else.
Yes!!!
no way, jose.
ugly? this isn’t the actual fucking thing! yes i’d take this if it’s cheap around £50, i mean, it has to since it’s just internet based. if it is cheap, it would lower the problem of losing one even more since you can access all your data from cloud
