Sony are going to be the first of the current console generation to go 3D. Although we caught a look of the PS3 running 3D games at the Gadget Show a couple of months ago, they have now announced that the software update will be available June 10th in Japan.
The opening 3D salvos will come via Wipeout HD, Super Stardust and Pain. According to Sony, the Sony Wipeout 3D will be free, but you will have to pay $3.30 for Startdust. No PAL or North American details have emerged just yet but details should follow soon and is likely to feature the same games apart from Stardust which will be replaced with the intense racer Motor Storm on our shores.
In order to get your PlayStation 3D you’ll have to fork out on a new TV and a couple of Polarised 3D glasses, which should set you back a cool thousand pounds.
What do you think of the PS3 3D? Would you pay a few thousands pounds to enjoy some PlayStation 3D gaming? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…

i think its just too much money, give it 5years when it might drop to £500 and then i will think of geting it.
Agreed Robin – hopefully with the 3DS we will see 3D gaming without glasses soon – but Motor Storm did look amazing at the Gadget Show.
Andrew – I CANT SEE 3D TVS AND GAMING TAKING OFF,WELL MAYBE IN ABOUT 5-10YEARS. BECAUSE THE TVS ARE ABOUT £6,000 FOR 42INH+ONE PEAR OF SPECS. BUT IF YOU HAVE 4 PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSE AND THEY ALL WANT TO WACH IN 3D YOU WILL HAVE TO GET THE 3D SPECS(£179.00 Samsung SSG-2200KR)179.00 X 3 =573.00+£6,000+PS3 IT JUST TOO MUCH MONEY.
BUT YES IT WOULD BE NICE TOO SEE GAMES AND TV IN 3D, BUT FOR THAT MONEY I COULD GET A 200SX AND TAKE IT TO TRACK DAYS
