The first handset to run the brand new Bada operating system, the Samsung Wave, is now available for pre-order on Vodafone.
You can sign-up for the new handset for free on a two-year contract at £25 a month. For this, you'll get 300 minutes talk time, 500MB of data and unlimited texts each month.
The handset's highlights are a 3.3inch AMOLED touchscreen and powerful 1GHz processor.
The Samsung Wave also boasts a 5MP HD camera with LED flash for both stills and video footage.
Listening to music on the Wave is designed to be a bit of a treat, with the Korean tech giant packing a 5.1 surround sound listening experience.
To store your creative video creations and tunes, the Wave will feature 2GB internal memory with an added memory card slot.
The Bada platform is application-orientated, with Samsung saying it will bring a more social experience to your handset.
In case you're wondering, Bada means "ocean", which represents the limitless application possibilities Bada handsets will provide.
Text messages, instant messages, and social networking updates will all be combined in the one place.
There will also be a dedicated app store so that you can personalise your phone. Better late than never.
While the features on Bada sound excellent, we're yet to see if it provides something that's really unique on an already flooded market. Are users really excited about another operating system post iPhone OS and Android?

Thanks for the awesome article, so I have been a samsung consumer for roughly five years now, and I latterly upgraded from a samsung omnia i910 to the Samsung Wave and so far I am loving it! (I do omit some features of my omnia although) I’m from Halifax Nova Scotia in Canada, I used to be originaly going to wait it out for the galaxy s to reach at the bell community however made up our minds to shop for the wave as an alternative and keep myself $400.
