As the release date of the iPhone 4G looms closers, Apple has released its latest beta version of the iPhone OS, Beta 4.
New features of the iPhone OS Beta 4 will include amendments to the default home screen which will mean applications like clock, calculator, compass and voice memo will be stored in the utilities folder.
Another interesting feature applies to AT&T customers who will be offered the tethering option, which can be enabled within seconds, although they will have to get it approved by AT&T themselves.
It still remains to be seen whether having WiFi and 3G active at the same will be a good thing especially as it could cause the iPhone battery to drain quickly as a result.
Other features will include a number of default wallpapers for you iPhone’s home screen, plus the change in the photo application which allows you to view your camera roll in a different orientation.
The iPhone 4.0 is expected to be released sometimes in the summer and since the iPhone is likely to come out at the beginning of the month of June (at the WWDC), expect at least one more beta before the final one.
