Amazon Kindle App for Android to be Launched this Summer

Amazon have revealed that their Amazon Kindle app for Android will be due this summer.

Similar to the company’s iPhone, iPad and PC/Mac apps, it will allow you to synchronise bookmarks across all copies of the Amazon e-book.

Another feature will include the possibility to browse the Kindle ebook store via the Android app, which will allow downloading titles straight onto the handset.

Along with this, the app will allow the user to adjust the font sizes and support swiped or tapped pages. The cost to download the app will be free of charge and will be available via the Android Market.

Although it appears to be a slow start for the Amazon Kindle app to hit the Android market, I am sure it will be well received amongst Amazon Kindle owners who have an Android phone.

No exact date for the app has been announced yet, just that it is expected for the summer, so if you would like to receive updates on the launch of the app please visit the link here, if not we will keep you posted.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
