Vodafone have revealed that they will be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone exclusively to it’s UK customers.
The Samsung Galaxy S is an Android based smartphone which includes a Snapdragon 1Ghz processor and comes packed with a healthy 16GB of storage, which can be increased to 48GB using the expandable microSD card.
Sporting a 5 megapixel camera and capable of shooting videos in HD quality, you can enjoy these crystal clear moments with the phone’s rather large 4" Super AMOLED touch screen display.
As it is an Android phone, you will be able to access thousands of apps through its Android Marketplace, which is increasing in size every day. Along with this, if you love keeping in touch with your friends through Facebook, Twitter and MSN then the phone’s seamless social networking features helps you do this.
So how much can you expect to pay? At the moment the Vodafone’s website is currently saying the phone is coming soon so we should expect to hear about contract prices shortly. However, we do predict that you will be able to get the phone free if you sign up to the pay monthly £35, however more details will be revealed soon.

….and sim-free ?
Vodafone currently limit their monthly data allowance to 500mb/month and no there is no mention of wi-fi hotspot allowance.
If you examine polls in typical monthly data use for various smart phone users you will see that 500mb would have been ok five years ago but is nothing like enough for today’s internet with even limited use of youtube, picture content emails and web radio or TV – even on a mobile phone. 500mb /month is only adequate for business users and we aren’t all business men/women.
The 16Gb handset needs to be available sim-free otherwise there may be something of a black market on eBay for unwanted upgrades which is less than desireable.
Lets hope Samsung appreciate that Vodafone marketing basically seems to think it has people over a barrel if they want to get the best version of the best handset and current hype seems to suggest that Vodafone plan on milking this lucrative exclusive-supply deal for everything they can get out of it.
Incidentally, not everyone wants, or can get Vodafone/Vodafone 3G. I live in the KW1 postcode. There is no Vodafone 3G signal for nearly 100 miles.
We need the 16GB version to be available sim-free.
