Review:

Samsung's S5560 Marvel comes with the company's own TouchWiz UI, which features widget upon widget on your homescreen.

TouchWiz is extremely intuitive and simple to use, so anyone can going going with the Marvel in no time.

The phone itself measurer up at 106 X 53.5 mm and is a waif-like 11.9 mm thick. It won't weigh you down either, tipping the scales at just 96g.

We've already touched on the camera which is the highlight of this phone.

At 5 megapixels it beats the likes of the iPhone, and even adds LED flash and autofocus into the mix.

Shots come through at a minimum resolution of 2592 X 1944 pixels which highlights a large amount of detail on your holiday snaps.

There is blink and smile detection to keep your subjects looking as normal as possible, and an image stabilisation system will ensure top quality photos.

The camera can also capture video, which is always handy for nights out at the pub.

The Marvel's 3.0 inch resistive touchscreen display is clear, responsive and noticeably bright.

It comes with the minimum res for a 3 inch touchscreen though at 240 X 400 pixels.

Connectivity-wise you get GSM, EDGE, GPRS, 3G and the old faithfuls Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The Marvel's internal memory comprises 78MB, but this can expand to up to 16GB thanks to an added microSD card slot.

To listen to your tunes, there is a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, so no need to worry about a proprietary headphone connection.

Battery life is impressive as well, sporting 25 days on standby, or 9.5 hours talk time.

The camera on the Marvel is what makes this handset a winner in our eyes. It's available from £15 a month at MobileShop making it quite an affordable convergent device.

We Say

The Samsung Marvel does mid range extremely well. It has an excellent camera, and tied in with Samsung's easy to use TouchWiz interface, this phone has a lot to offer without requiring you to take out another credit card.
