PS3 Firmware 3.21 Update: Geohot Comes to the Rescue for ‘Other OS’ PS3 Users

We all know that the PlayStation 3 is due to receive a firmware update on Thursday.

This is certainly good news for PS3 fans as it will mean more features, however yesterday we reported that Sony have decided to push out the "Install Other OS" option from the PS3.

Now, I know you might be thinking it may only affect a handful of PS users, currently on the other OS, which include Linux, but nonetheless we owe it for the minority voice to be heard.

Well, it would appear that famous hacker Geohot has come to the rescue by reassuring fans using the "other OS" that he will look into a safe way of updating to retain the other OS Support but more interestingly threatening to "touch the CFW".  Scary stuff in the world of hacking!

Now judging by Geohot previous hacking antics, it is always great to see that even the minority get a voice over large companies like Sony.  So what will Sony do next?  Let's wait and see shall we…
