It was the annual Pwn2Own Contest at CanSecWest Security Show yesterday.
Security analysts were put to the test in the Pwn2Own contest as they tried to hack into a non-jailbroken iPhone, Safari running on Snow Leopard and Internet Explorer 8 as well as Firefox on Windows 7.
However, just when we thought that these machines and platforms would be able to withstand the mighty force of the security experts, we were completely wrong as they were not only able to hack into them but also fully compromise without even having physical access to the machine.
Now we might have thought that the non-jailbroken iPhone would be an easy hack, because of its sketchy iPhone OS, however it is scary to find the others also faced the same fate. Although we have to understand that these are the elite of experts in the field, nonetheless it does make me worry…just a tad bit!
