Kindle Tablet/iPad App Announced: Will it be Ready for the iPad Release Date on April 3rd?

With the up and coming launch of the iPad in the US on April 3rd, Amazon have launched a Kindle app which will be specifically aimed at the iPad and other tablet devices.

The current Kindle app allows you to search more than 450,000 Kindle books, however the Kindle app for tablet devices will also include some new features.

If you already have a Kindle, then the Kindle tablet app will allow you to synchronise notes and details to with other Kindle apps or previously purchased books from your Kindle device.

Similar to the iPad user interface, Amazon's Kindle tablet app has adopted the iPad's seemless page-turn animation for a more real user experience, however for users who want a more simpler experience they can go back to the 'Basic Reading' mode.

A release date for the Kindle app for tablet device has still not been confirmed, however Amazon is said to be one of many companies working hard to ensure that the application is present on the iTunes store for the official iPad release date. We will just have to wait and see whether the Kindle app makes it in time for the apps store.

What do you think? Will the Kindle app be ready for the iPad release date? Will you be downloading the app onto your iPad if it does? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…

  • I was on the fence for months before I finally decided to order my Kindle 2. I had been reading such mixed reviews about the device and about Amazon’s customer service that I simply could not decide about the purchase. This review is for all of those people, like me, that cannot decide if they need a Kindle 2 for themselves. Well, struggle with the decision no more and ORDER IT! I am so happy with my Kindle 2 and I look forward to reading it every single day. All of the problems that I was worried about are not problems at all. Downloading books is easy, the screen is NOT too dark, the font size is adjustable and the Kindle customer service support is terrific. I had a problem with my Kindle 2 and I was instantly connected with the most helpful representative. I did not have to wait on hold and the problem was solved in no time. I have made the highest recommendations of the Kindle 2 to my friends and family and will continue to do so in the future. I can say with absolute confidence, if you order your own Kindle 2 you will not be disappointed! http://bit.ly/crMMcP
