Facebook Warning: Avoid Using Apps Allowing You to See Who is Viewing Your Profile

Facebook appsIf you have deliberating on using any applications which allow you to see who is viewing your profile then you might want to think twice.

Facebook is warning users not to use applications which claim to allow users to see who is viewing their profile and is 'aggressively disabling' apps, warning users that they don't work and should be avoided.

In a statement published by Facebook, they state that, “Don’t believe any applications that claim they can show you who’s viewing your profile or photo. They can’t.”

Security experts have warned that this new wave of applications which promise to reveal the truth about which of your friends is viewing your Facebook profile is worthless and bogus.

Although Facebook hasn't advised on how they will tackle the problem, it is hoped by security experts that Facebook will review its application publishing policy to stop these bogus apps from hitting Facebook.

Have you been affected by Facebook's bogus applications and use apps which allow you to see who is viewing your profile? Do you think it is Facebook's responsibility to vet out all the bogus apps or should it be the user's? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
