Sony MDR-RF4000K Digital Cordless Headphone: Give Your Ears a Treat This Easter

Much to my happiness technology is getting more and more wireless. I'm still not quite over the novelty of wireless game controllers yet. Something I've always wanted is a pair of wireless headphones but I've never got round to buying a pair. So if like me you're sick of walking to the kitchen for a cup of tea and dragging your laptop along with you or getting a sore neck from constantly bending your head forward as not to pull the headphones out of their socket, then what better time than any to rid yourself of those troublesome wires.

Sony are set to release the MDR-RF4000K digital cordless headphone this spring. Designed to fit in perfectly with today's living rooms, thanks to a unique new storage and charging dock that cuts out unsightly wires, they come with Digital RF transmission to ensure clear, secure signal reception over a range of up to 30m.

Their closed-type design reduces sound spillage, so there's no need to disturb others while you're enjoying the action packed finale of a favourite movie and the power-efficient design allows up to 7 hours continuous listening time between charges of the NiMH battery. Alternatively, you can slip in a single AAA alkaline battery and enjoy up to 10 hours listening without a break, plus an auto power-save feature switches off the headphone when it's not being used.

So this Easter, don't ask for chocolate, ask for headphones. It will be much healthier.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
