Apple Vs HTC: Apple Warned HTC Before Suing Them for Patent Infringements

You will have all probably heard about the ongoing saga between HTC and Apple over the patent infringements on Apple iPhone's multi-touch features. Well, new news has come to light that Apple had warned HTC on a number of occasions about these patent infringements before suing them.

Apple began talking to handsets giants HTC in January 2010 and told them that they would face legal action if they didn't listen to Apple. So either HTC thought they had hard evidence which would give them the all clear or they just didn't care to listen. I would have to agree with the latter and this is why HTC is facing legal action from Apple today.

Nokia, Motorola and few other mobile phone manufacturers were approached by Apple too, and took this warning a little more seriously from Apple and as a result didn't release any devices which may have infringed Apple's patents. Instead, it would seem a number of manufacturers are working to design their own multi touch technology to compete with Apple's, which does seem like the safer option.

Experts believe that HTC will probably have to agree an out of court settlement with Apple over these patent infringements, so for HTC surely this a lesson to be learned from all of this and that is listen to warnings before things get out of hand!
