Asus Improves the Eee PC Range

Asus has released a slew of new products at this year's CeBIT Exhibition in Hannover, including a number of fourth generation Eee PCs.

Kicking-off the new range is the Taiwanese manufacturer's Eee PC 1201PN with a high res 12.1 inch screen boasting 1366 x 768 pixels.

It can automatically change between discrete and dedicated graphics, allowing users to make the most of high performance, graphically intensive applications, while resorting to battery-saving settings during normal use.

Memory-wise, the 1201PN has a gigabyte of RAM and a 160GB hard drive.

Also impressive is the new 1018P Eee PC, which Asus chairman Jonney Shih has described as "the ultimate thin and light device".

The 1018P is a premium netbook with a light weight aluminium case that comes in four different colours.

It has a 10.1 inch display and measures in at only 18mm thick, making it the thinnest Eee PC Asus has ever produced.

The 1018P supports the latest generation USB 3.0 and also comes with an extra secure fingerprint reader, which isn't usually standard in a netbook.

With super quick transfer speeds of 4.8GBPS, the 1018P also boasts 14 hours of battery life.

Alongside these new releases is the Eee PC 1015P and the 1016P, which have slightly lower specs but will be more affordable.

The 1015P is an update to the Eee PC Seashell range and again features a 14 hour battery life, while the battery itself is removable.

The Asus Eee PC Diary 1016P is aimed for use on the road, with an integrated touch-pad in the palm-rest. It also features the very sleek Aluminium casing.

The new range is due to hit the high street mid-this year.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
