Google or should we called them 'Generous Google' are proposing to give developers a free Google Nexus One or Motorola Droid if they create an application for their Android platform.
This is all good news for developers, but surely not every developer would qualify? That's true. Google will only hand out their sought-after smartphones to developers who have created an application which has a 3.5 star rating and with at least 5000 downloads.
It has been said that Google sent out an email to developers in parts of the US and all of Canada, Europe, Norway, Lichtenstein, Switzerland Hong Kong, Taiwan, and explaining this 'bonus scheme'.
Could this mean that a large company such as Google are simply being generous or is this smartphone bonus scheme a way of pushing their developers to create quality applications? I would probably have to agree on the latter. However either way it is definitely a step in the right direction for Google to build a good quality sustainable relationships with their developers.
