Days after Apple decided to ban some of its explicit applications from the Apple Store, developers saw a new category appearing on their developers website for submitting apps to the ‘Apps Store: Explicit’.
The new category didn't show up in the Apps Stores but there was speculation to suggest that this would be a place for explicit applications to go live. We did discuss in our previous post the possibility of Apple creating a 'red light district' to counteract the problem of explicit applications being shown in the apps store, so does this mean Apple may have listened our demands?
Just when we thought Apple might be making an instant smart move to create an ‘Explicit’ Apps Store, a new update to the story suggests that Apple has now removed the explicit tag from the developer website. An Apple rep supposedly told one developer that the company is considering an option in the future but it 'isn't going to happen anytime soon.'
So when Apple means 'anytime soon', this does suggest that they will be looking to create an explicit store for these type of applications, however it is still unclear about when this move will happen.
Well, for all those disgruntled parents and women, let's hope it is sooner rather than later so Apple can put an end to this explicit applications saga.
