This month might as well be all about Apple with the amount of times we have reported about them. With only a day left for us to hear more about the rumoured unveiling of the Apple Tablet, Apple have just announced that they maybe asking TV networks to get cheaper on iTunes TV.
It has been rumoured that after a meeting with TV executives, Apple are wanting TV networks to reduce their prices sold through iTunes to $0.99 – half of the standard $1.99 price. It is hoped by Apple that if prices are reduced on TV shows then this will mean that sales could increase dramatically.
However, it would seem that the TV networks do not share the same notion. They feel like this is just another similar story to the one which the music industry had back in 2003 when Apple decided to reduce their download prices too. It would appear that the TV networks do not want to make the same mistake as the music industry did, because agreeably the reduction in price may increase the number of downloads, but could this reduce the number of DVDs sold in market?
However, Apple’s argument to this is the fact that they are only protecting the TV shows from being plagued even more with illegal downloads on the market. If they can offer consumers with cheap and easy access to their content then there would be a less of a need for these illegal downloads.
So what do you think? Would it tempt you to buy more TV shows on iTunes if it meant the prices were lowered? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Of course I would, but I live in Canada and many tv shows are around $3. That’s a lot of money to watch a show only once. Maybe they can put just one ad in the beginning to off the costs that I wouldn’t mind.
Otherwise I usually go a streaming site to watch free movies and tv shows.
Let’s face it, we are a society who wants things instantly. Who wants to order a DVD or go to a store to buy a DVD?
