Update: Apple Tablet to be Called iSlate?

After some great New Years partying over the weekend, you would think that everyone would be taking a well deserved break after enjoying all the festive frolics. However, in the tech world unfortunately there is no rest for the tech teams for the new Apple tablet. Just before the holidays Apple revealed that the Apple tablet device could be released on January 26th, however it would seem that new rumours have been spouting around in regards to the name for this Apple tablet device.

A few suggestions have been made about the name over the past few weeks, however it would seem that the name iSlate is looking like a winner. How? Well, MacRumors have been doing a little investigating and managed to track down the iSlate.com domain name being registered to Apple for a brief amount of time before going private.

Although, we shouldn’t take the findings from MacRumors as gospel, there is a pretty good hunch that this could be the new name for the new tablet device.

As this is looking to be one of Apple’s sought after gadgets for 2010, I am pretty excited to hear more about the Apple Tablet…I mean the iSlate as Apple’s confirms all hopefully in the next coming weeks.

Will an Apple Tablet device eventually replace netbooks and is it worth the buy? Let us know what you think!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
