For some time now you’ve been able to buy the tracks you love on Spotify through 7Digital, but now it just got a whole lot easier as the music streaming giant has added one-click purchasing to it’s army of ever improving features.
Previously users had to purchase and download music from 7 Digital’s site, and had to right click a track to see if it was even available for a start, following a number of steps from there on in to actually get the track.
Now, there will be a “buy” button next to all tracks and albums available for purchase (so not all the tracks are available yet which is a shame), that will allow you to buy tracks from within Spotify itself which as you can imagine makes life a lot simpler. Once you click the buy button, you will need to click to agree to some terms and conditions jargon as you do with most purchases online, and then you’ll be presented with a payment page for you to enter your card details. Once you’ve completed this stage the track will download while you continue browsing if you wish. A snazzy added extra with this update is that all bought tracks will be playable within Spotify under a “Purchases” heading on the Spotify sidebar and this will look different to the rest of your playlists, it will of course be ad-free and can be transferred to MP3 players if you wish or whatever device plays mp3’s and you can listen to your favorite songs on the move!
I for one am a bit anxious about this move from Spotify, as for one they are now directly competing with iTunes which will take some beating and two how difficult and time-consuming will it be to actually purchase the songs….we will see!
Whatever happened to the rumor that Spotify was going out of business?
Will you be using this new feature? Or will you just be using it for free music streaming like many other millions of people?
