Funtrak Paintball Panzer: A Mini Tank with a Colourful Purpose

The concept of paintball warfare has been around for a while as a way for you to bond with people by shooting painful, orange pellets at them. Well, for your next office party, you can really get to "bond" with the Associate Directors by shooting at them from a tank (don't tell me your heart didn't leap at that sentence, I know it did).

The Paintball Panzer from Funtrak is a mini-tank from which you can send out a barrage of rainbow colours whilst at the same time being protected from Matt in marketing. No longer will you have to suffer the painful bruising of being shot on your defenceless limbs, now you have the same protection as the army does! Sort of.

The Paintball Panzer fits one person and features a glass reinforced plastic chassis. If you're the kind of person who may get a tad carried away while chasing someone up and down steep hills trying to zone in on them in your viewfinder, there are safety elements to the tank as well. A rollover bar and roll cage mean that while the person being chased may have the last laugh when you overturn, at least you'll still be in one piece and able to hunt them down on foot.

The integrated paintball gun is designed to fire while driving, so there's no need to stop and aim like the poor plebs who are running around on foot. To try out the Panzer, there are four locations in the UK which features them on their paintball circuits.

For those of you who can't stand not having one to zip around on your own property with, you will need to wait three months from your order before you can terrorise the cat next door. You can even drive this mini-tank on UK roads, after you've paid all of your DVLA regulatory fees of course. At 106 x 122 x 183cm, it will even fit snugly in your garage and be a sight to behold whenever you open the door to give a mate a lift home.

Priced from £8,300 for a basic model it’s about the same price as a car, but you’ve got to admit, it will be a whole lot more fun!

It is every kids dream come true, I think some one should see what kind of art work they could make with it. Maybe that could help counter the high price. Tank Art it could catch on.

  • There is a choice of 6 colours for the tank which you can see here:

They’re all variations on the theme of camouflage though. I think you’re right with the idea of tank art- I’d love to see one driving around with some still life on the side!

  • Unfortunately I don’t have any info on how to actually make the tank, but I’m sure if anyone else can help you out they’ll let you know.
