Big news from the world of Apple this week, they have moved up to 20th on Interbrands’s Best Global Brands list. This list is based on five criteria and excludes those brand’s which are privately held.
Interbrand put Apple’s whole ‘brand’ at a value of $US15.4 billion up 12% from 2008 and in fact, Apple had the second biggest % increase in brand value after Google’s 25% increase in the top 25 companies. Preceding Apple on the list is: Coca-Cola (first), IBM, Microsoft, GE, Nokia, McDonald’s, Google, Toyota, Intel, Disney, HP, Mercedes-Benz, Gillette, Cisco, BMW, Louis Vuitton, Marlboro, Honda and Samsung. Does this surprise you? Because at a first glance it did me for sure, half of these brands I don’t hear anything about and yet I hear loads about Apple, this just shows what Company’s do in the background of business away from the limelight.
How do you think Apple will fare in the coming year, will they go from strength to strength?
