Carphone Warehouse to Sell Dell Inspiron 11z in the UK Even Before Dell

The much talked about, thin and light, Dell Inspiron 11z is now available in the UK, but incredibly it will be available from The Carphone Warehouse even before Dell's own web site. Just in time for back to school, you can order the Inspiron 11z at one of the 820 The Carphone Warehouse stores, where it will be shipped to you directly. The price is also great, for those who sign a £35 a month, 24-month T-Mobile contract this laptop is FREE!

I wrote about the Inspiron 11z just two weeks ago when Dell officially launched it in the USA. As expected the 11z has made its way over the atlantic and has now arrived in the UK.

Dell's Inspiron 11z laptop offers all the power of a full laptop but with the weight and size of an ultra portable. With an 11.6 inch screen the 11z is only slightly bigger than a netbook but due to its new ultra low voltage Celeron processor it has almost twice the power.

What is more the Inspiron 11z comes with a HD display offering a resolution of 1366×768, just perfect for watching movies on the go. As this machine has more power than a normal Intel Atom powered netbook it doesn’t come with XP but instead ships with Windows Vista accompanied by a healthy 2GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. The 11z will also work just nicely with Windows 7 when it comes out in October.

The laptop also includes integrated Wi-Fi, 1.3 mega-pixel webcam, and a six-cell battery with nearly six hours of battery life.

The laptop is initially only available in the UK at The Carphone Warehouse stores for £399 including VAT. So if you want one, don’t go to Dell,

go to The Carphone Warehouse here!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
