Getting a new MP3 player is all well and good, but if you’re a the kind of person who needs to know why your music device is technologically superior to everyone else’s (admit you do for the street cred) then we’re going to help you out by taking apart Sony’s new X-Series Walkman.
The X-Series comes in a 16GB and 32GB options and you’ll be expected to fork out £218.99 and £289 respectively.
The first thing everyone is concerned about with their Britney-playing device is sound. Sony have been brandishing about what it calls Clear Audio Techonolgy, which seems impressive, but what does it actually mean?
Well, Sony’s catch-phrase combines a range of different technologies with the intention of providing you with the best sound possible for your bus ride home from work every day.
These technologies include a Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, Clear Bass, Clear Stereo and a dark-lord-sounding S-Master Digital Amplifier.
But again, I’m just throwing words at you. Seeing as a picture speaks a thousand words, we thought we’d go a bit arty with an infographic to explain the intricacies of these marketing terms, instead of boring you high-school-science-text-book-style.
Crystal clear? Sony seem to think so.
