Waterslide Mania! Barclaycard Launch Extreme Waterslide iPhone Game

WaterSlideiPhoneI think we all remember the Barclaycard advert with the waterslide, where an office worker strips down to his speedos, gets into a waterslide, and rides on it on his commute home. He swipes his way using his Barclaycard, which allows him to go supermarket shopping and pay for train tickets. I don’t know about you but when I saw that ad, I thought if only my credit card purchases could be as fun as this.

Now, you can have a Barclaycard Waterslide all of your own. OK, so maybe I’m not talking the full hog with the swimwear, water and the slide but the Barclarycard Waterslide Extreme iPhone application is near enough the best you’re going to get to distract you from your daily commute to work.

The game, developed by fishlabs and Dare for Barclaycard, has nine levels. Its aim is to steer a character down an increasingly difficult waterslide in the quickest time whilst collecting points and avoiding objects along the way. The best thing about it is visitors to Apple’s store or iTunes can download the application for free.

This is definitely a step in the right direction for the financial services, which has been under major scrutiny and has also worked in conjunction with the Barclaycard waterslide TV advert which will hit our screens this month.

Check the advert for yourself and see what fun you could have on that busy stressful commute home:

  • The graphics and sounds are great. The game is a lot of fun at full speed!
I found it to be a little bit buggy and I’ve read that some iPhone 3gs users have had issues with the music from the game still playing after they have quit the app.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
