iPill: Mini Microphone For Your iPod

This gadget may seem a bit gimicky, I mean how often do you find yourself recording your indelible thoughts when you’re out and about on the town? Nevertheless, it’s an iPod accessory, and anything that gives the coolest gadget you own a bit more functionality is worth taking a look at.

The iPill is a basic microphone attachment that is compatible with the iPod nano 4G, iPod classic 120GB, and iPod touch 2G.

It slots into the headphone jack instead of the dock connector, meaning that you can’t record your karaoke efforts and listen to Britney at the same time. Which is really a wasted opportunity in anyone’s opinion…

The compact iPill looks like something you’d give your girlfriend when she claims a headache, but has a tiny eyelet built into the design so you can look like you enjoy accessorising with recreational drugs.

This little iPod add-on could come in handy for students wanting to record a lecture, for providing a bit of light entertainment on a long-distance car trip, or is perfect for someone wanting to bootleg a concert- not that we endorse such illegal acts!

At present, the iPill is only available in the US for $13 (£8) and isn’t a bad gift idea for that person in your life who always seems to be hooked up to their tunes via a white cord.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
