It’s official, the third Google Android powered mobile phone will be in stores next month courtesy of HTC.
The HTC Hero comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, and a not-to-be-sneezed-at 5 megapixel camera with autofocus.
Connectivity-wise, you’ll get HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There’s also a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can plug in any headphones to listen to your collection of the Killers.
The Hero will also feature a digital compass as well as a MicroSD card slot.
HTC is also debuting “Sense” on this handset. HTC Sense is a customised user interface for Android that will allow you to access social media sites and customise profiles with live updates for email, SMS and social networking.
Sense will also provide a variety of widgets on the home screen as well as a search bar, making it dead easy to access your usual applications without having to fiddle around in various menus.
We think this is the best looking Android phone to date and with all of its features, we’re pretty sure these are going to appear in quite a few pockets in the near future.
The HTC Hero will be available on both Orange and T-Mobile.

Thank you for the great article, I am very excited. I have had my phone for just over a month now and am really taking part in all of the loose apps from the android marketplace, with the ability to have the internet and navigation at my fingertips all the time. The only less than thought characteristic is the image/video text messages, as they are not downloading properly.
