When using tech starts to give you a black eye, you know you have a problem. This much could be said for James Coleman, the first man in in the world to suffer a ‘twinjury’ – an injury sustained while using Twitter.
The incident occurred as the 23 year old was jogging to work whilst tweeting on his Blackberry. This potent combination of activities resulted Mr Coleman suffering from a cracked head as he hit a heavy low-hanging branch.
“I guess you could say I feel a right Twit,” he said
The injury was so severe that he could only see out of one eye for a few days. Thankfully, his thumbs were spared so his Blackberry Twittering activities would not have been hampered.
Mr Coleman tweeted the accident: “Running to work, very late. Smacked my face against a branch, hurts. Forgot how tall I am. Danger of twittering…”
Half an hour later he reassured followers: “Got to work, changed and sat at desk. Low lying branch twittering is unadvised. Best get on with some work.”
Never underestimate the perils of online social networking.
