£99 Jabra HALO Stereo Bluetooth headset announced

We’ve just caught wind that Jabra’s new HALO Bluetooth stereo headset has been announced today with an RRP of £99.99 and a launch date of summer 09.halo_product_05

The HALO comes complete with A2DP technology which means that it can connect to your phone, or any other Bluetooth equipped music streaming device, to provide you with stereo sound without the inconvenience of missing phone calls. If your handset does ring whilst you’re busy bopping away on the bus the music gently fades out to alert you to the call, simple. It also features Noise Blackout tech which eliminates background noise for both parties on the call.

The headphones themselves look like a pretty slim and lightweight design, though I would want to get a set on my head to see how comfortably they’ll sit, apparently they only weigh 80 grams so the HALO shouldn’t leave you’re neck aching after a long session.

The HALO has only one visible button, for answering calls, as the volume is controlled by a touch strip, and when you’ve had your fill of the Beach Boy’s Greatest Hits you simply slip them off, fold them away and store them in the handy carry pouch. Providing you haven’t misplaced it already.

Thankfully the device is also compatible with all standard 3.5mm non-Bluetooth equipped music playing devices, so, TVs, laptops, MP3 players, that kind of thing.

halo_product_11Of course, whilst a considered design and folding motion is all very well, a set of headphones is really going to stand or fall on sound quality, to that end the HALO comes with the Zirene Power Bass feature to improve the listening experience. How well this works or enhances the sound we can’t say, but it’s nice to know that some thought has been put towards actually enhancing the sound quality on wireless devices that are renowned for suffering reduced quality in favour of increased mobility.

If we manage to get our hands on a set anytime soon we’ll give you the full run-down, until then you can find out more over at Jabra’s Official UK site – we’re expecting the HALO to launch later this summer at that £99 RRP.
