The Best Resignation Letter Ever- in the Form of a Super Mario Game

We’ve all been there, sitting at our work desk dreaming of exactly what to say to your annoying co-workers when the day finally comes for you to quit being a computer monkey.

Well for Jarrad Farbs, his imagination took him one step further than telling Adrian in accounting where he could stick his VAT calculations. Instead of writing a letter on a standard word document, he created a game. Super Mario style.picture11

The Australian developer decided to throw in the reins at a big company to become a full-time independent game developer.

He stayed up all night working on this short Flash game featuring Mario delivering his resignation news at different stages of the game.

If you get far up enough in the levels, you can reach a nice farewell message thanking his company,  “You gave me a paycheck, an incredible project and a world-class team to learn from. But my princess is in another castle.”

This guy is obviously a Shakespeare/ Bill Gates package.

If you want to play the resignation game, check it out on Farbs’ blog. Just a warning, it’s strangely addictive if you’re stuck in the office!

  • Brilliant idea, and I managed to complete it too.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
