There has been many a debate as to whether technology is making people lazy. And, perhaps, stupid. Let's take Sat Navs for example. How many people in the UK alone do you reckon use a Sat Nav? Well, if that Sat Nav told you to jump in a fire, would you? If it directed you to the edge of a cliff, would you follow? No! Darn right you wouldn't!
But believe it or not, somebody did! A 43 year old man old from South Yorkshire followed the instructions on his Sat Nav, that told him the steep path he was following in Todmordon, West Yorkshire was a road. He only stopped when his BMW hit a fence.
Okay, sure, it probably shouldn't have happened and so many people rely on their Sat Navs to get where they need to be. But, surely there's a point where common sense kicks in and you think to yourself, “hmm… this doesn't seem right…” Obviously not with some people!
The South Yorkshire man was subsequently arrested and summoned to Court for driving without due care and attention. Rightly so!

lol, umm what a Muppet. I’ve had loads of bad experiences with my sat nav, but my worst was when I was going to Manchester to move my stuff into my uni halls, and the city centre had been blocked off. The sat nav just went round in circles. This was an inbuilt sat nav though and had maps from 1996 so sat nav have come a long way since…
I can imagine you driving around in circles Gaj!! Haha. I agree, Sat Navs have definitely come along way since the 90’s. Unfortunatley, common sense seems to be lacking. In fact, I’m sure I saw the obituary in The London Times…
