Google-powered Samsung touchscreen on the horizon

A picture of what is rumoured to be the first Android handset from Samsung has been leaked online

Extremely blurry pictures of what may be Samsung’s first outing with the Google Android operating system have surfaced on the Dutch website GSMhelpdesk.nl

Yes. We know. You're right, it might be the grainiest spy-shot of a mobile ever!
Yes. We know. You're right, it might be the grainiest spy-shot of a mobile ever!

The information posted over on the Dutch site purportedly shows Samsung’s first foray into the touchscreen Android market.

The details are a little sketchy at the moment but the as yet unnamed handset is apparently a quad-band GSM device with a capacitive touchscreen and a respectable feature list that includes:

  • 3G/HSDPA/HSUPA
  • Bluetooth supporting A2DP
  • Google Software pre-installed
  • Generous internal memory (unknown) plus microSD card support

Much like the picture, it’s not all clear though; there’s some confusion over whether the handset will ship with a 3.2 or 5-megapixel camera and whether it will ship with GPS functionality but these questions aside it seems as if the rumours that Samsung have an Android device in the works may well pan out to be true.

Keep ’em peeled guys n gals.

  • Just purchased a Mythic for myself and will likely be obtaining one particular for my wife soon! It has just the right mix of functions. just brief of a complete smartphone. I’m preserving an eye within the Captivate for a prospective future telephone..
.prices are way too substantial when released. I’ve been in substantial tech for 20+ many years and basically hack every thing I very own to generate it much better laptops, GPS, automobile navigation devices, and so on. and yes cell phones as well. Inside number of days I’ve owned the telephone I’ve already installed Opera Mini, Bolt 2.1, freecaddie, Google Maps w/GPS functionality, deleted all locked ineffective apps following backing them up and totally modified the menu process to my exact wants devoid of all useless apps.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
