LG have announced that they will make Windows the primary operating system for their 'easy-to-use' smartphones. The newest in their smartphone line-up is the LG-GM730.
It is the first smartphone to use the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, along with Internet Explorer 6.0 for an 'enhanced web experience'. It also uses the new 3D S-Class User Interface, first announced on the LG Arena.
“The combination of Windows Mobile and our new 3D S-Class User Interface will make the LG-GM730 the most functional and easiest to use smartphone ever created,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “This phone is a springboard for us. We will launch a number of smartphones this year; most of them will follow this same winning formula.”
The GM730 incorporates a slim, smooth and seamless profile, with rounded edges and a large touchscreen. Unfortunately, not all specs are available at the moment; LG inform that they will be available soon.
The LG GM730 is due for release in the first half of 2009.
