Philips Mini LivingColor for maximum effect

It is generally agreed in the design world that a great way to spruce up your home is by adding a feature wall that is a different, contrasting colour to the rest of your home. But what if you're renting or change your mind on what your favourite colour is as quickly as Dulux changes its paint line? Well we've got the perfect gadget for you with the new Philips Mini LivingColor (I promise that wasn't a space-less Americanised typo, it's a brand thing).

This great device allows you to change the colour of any white wall from a choice of 256 shades. Because it uses light to project a colour, gone are your woes of your house constantly smelling like paint every time you think it's in need of a spruce-up. It is also the perfect device for a party as it has the option to continually loop through colours which, let's be honest, is much more civilised than strobe lighting.

While a larger-sized LivingColor was already in existence, this new Mini LivingColor is more compact which makes it perfect to tuck away behind the couch. It also has the colour wheel integrated onto the face of the unit, which does away with a remote control, and really, who really needs yet another remote in their house?

The Mini LivingColor is available in black or white to fit in perfectly with whatever décor you already have. If you're reaching for your wallet as you're reading this, then head over to Red5* where you can currently pre-order to be one of the first in line for shipment in September.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
