Now for all you Samsung fans….good news….Samsung are to unveil their new 12MP (yes that’s 12 megapixel) camera phone at this months Mobile World Congress (February 16th-19th).
The initial rumors about the Korean Samsung wanting to step up it’s game with a 12MP camera came from unwiredview back in October, where they reported that Telecoms Korea along with Samsung had developed a new 12MP camera module that was even smaller than their 8MP one, it seems Samsung continued to work on this and plan to unveil it at the Mobile World Congress later this month. The image seen here is a fake, in fact, it is a slightly photo-shopped version of the Samsung Innov8 from unwiredview.
Details about the actual phone are basically inexistent, but it is thought that Samsung intend on mass producing the phone by the end of February, and will be released in Europe first.
A talking point amidst the rumors about the phone is the display….will it have an iPhone-like touchscreen, or will it have a typically Samsung regular display? And will it be a smartphone or not? Samsung must surely have thought about these sorts of things when we all witnessed the iPhone 3G boom, and to do battle with their other compact camera competitors also, this phone should have a decent lens and flash. Well now, we’ll just have to wait and see wont we.
It’s now only just two weeks till the Mobile World Congress, and it’s all set to be an absolute cracker!
