There's something quite mystical about gazing into the depths of the night sky looking at"¦ um… all of those stars. If you've ever wanted to be a bit more specific or eloquent in your appreciation of what is otherwise a twinkling mass of constellations, then this gadget is for you. The mySky is a handheld interactive guide to the universe, which to be perfectly honest, is the best product description I've ever heard.
The mySky features a built-in GPS, magnetic north sensors and a full colour LCD screen. It is nifty enough to find your exact location and give you three different modes of operation: Identify, Guided Tour and Find.
Select "Identify" and you get a true view of the night sky on your LCD screen. Simply aim towards your point of interest in the heavens and shoot to find out exactly what you've been looking at all night. Switch to "Guided Tour" and mySky will let you know of the best celestial bodies for you to look at, based on your position and the time of night. Lastly, if you've ever been interested in finding Orion and are sick of becoming cross-eyed at the myriad of white spots in the sky, set mySky to "Find" and within seconds you'll be a constellation pro.
The mySky doesn't stop at constellations, but can also identify planets, individual stars, nebula and galaxies in your particular patch of night sky. Another great feature, is that mySky can be connected to a computerised telescope and can be used to move and point it to an object of interest. The sky's the limit with this gadget!
