T-Mobile G1 'Help Channel' launched on YouTube

Now understandably, not everybody is a techy whiz kid when it comes to mobiles, especially those as advanced as the G1 and its rivals.

So, the nice people at T-Mobile thought of a ever so kind way to help out the troubled G1 users and launched their own 'help' channel on YouTube.

The channel is designed to offer help and assistance to G1 owners by T-Mobile experts and more knowledgeable G1 customers.  The channel will be updated with short video clips about new G1 applications.  It will offer blogs, tips and video demonstrations. Customers can discuss issues on the channel and can post their questions and queries about the handset or certain applications and receive either written or video answers.

Brendon Cooling, Head of Online, T-Mobile said: 'Many brands are looking to talk to their customers through social media. Social networking is a huge part of life for many of our customers, so launching a channel on YouTube was the next step in order to ensure our customers get the quality of service they deserve.

'This doesn't mean we're moving away from contact centre-led customer service, but that we're expanding the ways in which our customers can interact efficiently with T-Mobile.'

Personally, I reckon this is a pretty good idea.  How much success do we actually have when trying to call any Customer Services helpline?  Yeah… exactly!

Are you a frustrated G1 user that just can't get to grips with a certain aspect of the phone?  Well grab yourself some assistance now at www.youtube.com/opentmobile

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
