So I wanted to do a bit of brand name bashing here… I had it all figured out in my head about the name and the huge price tag… But although the price tag is an issue, the phone's actually not that bad!
The Prada II is a sleek and stylish looking phone with improvements over its predecessor. It weighs 130grams with dimensions of 104.5 x 54 x 16.75mm.
It's a 3G quadband handset, with HSDPA, WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth 2.0. The battery provides 400 hours standby time and 3 hours talktime.
It has a microSDHC card slot for a capacity of up to 8GB.
It boasts a 3 inch (400×240) WQVGA touch screen with haptics feedback. And a new 'active flash' menu.
The major new feature is the slide out QWERTY keyboard, a real positive as touch screen keyboards can be very fiddly at times. Especially when you're in a rush!
It features a 5 megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, autofocus and flash for taking great quality photos and video recordings. A standard VGA camera is mounted on the front of the handset for video calling.
Other features include a media player with MP3 and DIVX playback, FM-Radio, TV-out jack, a document viewer, Prada ringtones, wallpapers, video clips. And Prada's Fall/Winter 08 'Lookbook'.
It doesn't stop there though, a nice additional extra is the Prada Link; a Bluetooth watch with a 0.9 inch OLED display. It weighs 51 grams and the battery will last for 48 hours standby. Personally, it's not the kind of watch I would wear. Maybe I've no fashion sense?! Anyhow, it's a handy accessory that will alert you by either sound or vibration to incoming calls, texts and alarm functions without having to remove your phone from your bag or pocket. What a lazy world we're turning into! The Prada Link will set you back £250 - yes you read it right. And for a bloomin Bluetooth watch! I'd expect fireworks!
But hold your breath for this one; to buy the Prada II handset, you'll have to fork out £475! Now I like the look of the phone and it has some good features, but to pay £700 or more for a phone and it’s matching accessory… you’d have to be a mad, right? Let us know your thoughts!
