It seems that despite the credit crisis and reports of reduced spending in shops, London shoppers can still find it in their hearts (and their wallets) to splurge on a shiny new gadget to carry around with them to complement their outfit.
Five hundred shoppers on Oxford St were recently surveyed and asked what electronics they had on them at that time. The results found that the average person steps out of the house with £247 worth of gadgets in their pockets and handbags- there’s a chunk out of your weekly pay packet.
BlackBerrys have obviously replaced jewelery as the new bling, and you really can’t be seen in that outfit without an iPhone these days.
The survey was commissioned by Insuregadgets.com, who have said that the survey results show that consumer technology has gone mainstream.
