Overview:
If we weren’t already spoiled for choice with the numerous new handsets on the market, now there’s another one to consider parting with your hard-earned money for. The Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman phone features, well a little bit of everything to be honest.
Review:
The 2.4 inch screen on this slider handset allows you to watch videos through a Wi Fi connection which is new to Walkman phones. The W705 makes good use of this feature with a YouTube application.
Other notable features include a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth, Google Maps and a 4GB memory card.
As this handset bears the Walkman name, SonyEricsson have provided Clear Bass, Clear Stereo and “premium” headphones to make the best of the latest Walkman v3.0 software. If you get sick of your regular playlist, there is also an FM RDS radio for those who have decided to skimp on CDs.
The phone will provide 10 hours of talk time and will be available in red or silver, with the surprising omission of a black option.
The handset itself looks good, but there’s nothing particularly stylish or out of the ordinary with it. Still, I wouldn’t be ashamed to pull this out at the pub to show my mates.
The price of this phone is yet to be divulged, but it will fit into the upper end of the Walkman phone range when it is released early next year.
